Cumnor House Community Music Day

Sat 4th March 2023

Matt Jelf presents a semi-staged performance of Britten's Noye's Fludde, a community music collaboration with the pupils of Cumnor House School, Sussex joined by amateur adult and child performers from across Sussex on Sat 4th March 2023.

The project will be an intensive one-day community music event at Arundel Cathedral, bringing together a choir of approximately 150-200 SATB voices, Y3-8 pupils from Cumnor House (dressed in costume for the animal procession), two professional soloists - Alex Ashworth (Noye) and Jessica Gillingwater (Noye's Wife), the girl choristers of Arundel Cathedral (solo children and gossips), a guest speaker for the Voice of God, a string quintet, a chamber orchestra, a recorder ensemble, a bugle band, an organ, two pianists and a large percussion ensemble.

The project will be free for all participants to be part of and audience tickets are free too. We wish the event to be a financial-barrier free musical event of high quality and community spirit. Do join us if you can in the choir, in the orchestra or in the audience.
